DbVisualizer is a cross-browser visualizer for your MySQL database that strives to improve user productivity by reducing the amount of time spent on mundane database administration tasks. It provides a single platform to speed up application development, test and debugging of complex relational databases. For web developers, DbVisualizer provides a set of tools to help web application development and perform complex tasks like object navigating, generating, running SQL queries and more. It is open source and free of charge.
DbVisualizer software can be downloaded from the official website for no cost. The software comes in two flavors, for both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It works on MySQL 5.6, higher and lower version. It also works with any web server, whether it is Linux Unix, or Windows. The software supports both UNIX and Linux operating systems and is compatible with Microsoft SQL Server.
When you install DbVisualizer, it will walk you through the process of installing MySQL, PHP, and other necessary programs needed for building a visual representation of your database. It then creates an instance of your selected application from your command line prompt or console window. You can select different formats of your database, for example, say, mssQL, or XML. You can save the resulting image as a.dbz file, compress it, resize it, rename it, or change its color. It also supports multiple databases, so you can create a new application for any combination of three or four databases.
